About This Place

Located in the heart of Milton, MA, Novara Restaurant offers an authentic taste of Northern Italy with a modern twist that delights both locals and visitors alike. This Italian gem prides itself on crafting vibrant, flavorful dishes that celebrate indulgent seafood, hearty pastas, and comforting classics, all served in a lively and inviting atmosphere.

The culinary highlight here is undoubtedly their seafood creations. The Hot Buttered Lobster Roll stands out as a must-try, impressively loaded with lobster meat so fresh and generous it feels like a feast unto itself. Lobster lovers will also savor the Lobster Fra Diavolo, a spicy, tomato-based pasta dish that perfectly balances heat and richness. If you’re craving something more rustic, the Pappardelle Bolognese and Family Style Caesar Salad provide a comforting and communal dining experience, enhanced by carefully layered flavors and quality ingredients.

Novara’s bar program complements the food beautifully with a thoughtfully curated selection of craft beers, classic cocktails like the Aperol Spritz, and decadent creations such as their Batched Espresso Martini and Batched Sangria. Reviewers often praise the cocktail quality, with one customer noting the “best espresso martinis ever,” a testament to the bar’s skill and attention.

The ambiance at Novara is a lively blend of old-world charm and contemporary energy. Housed in a former movie theater, the space features a modernized bar with numerous big screen TVs, sometimes playing classic films, creating a unique dining environment that sparks conversations and encourages lingering over plates and drinks alike. The atmosphere can buzz with energy—it might get a little loud during peak times—but it’s that vibrant vibe that makes the experience memorable.

Novara’s menu also thoughtfully caters to gluten-free diners with family-style meal options like the GF Family Salmon Piccata served with pancetta mashed potatoes and lemon caper butter sauce, and the GF Family Chicken Marsala with gluten-free penne, making it a perfect spot for group celebrations. Their desserts are a delightful conclusion to any meal, particularly the decadent Chocolate Lava Cake paired with vanilla gelato, and the classic Tiramisu, both praised for their rich flavors and fine textures.

Customers frequently highlight the attentive service and personable staff who elevate the dining experience. Kerri, a server mentioned in several reviews, ensures guests feel truly cared for, while bartenders like Pat and Dillon contribute to the friendly, welcoming vibe. It’s clear that the Novara team goes above and beyond to create moments that linger long after the meal.

Whether you're stopping by for a casual lunch, where the generous lobster roll makes a lasting impression, or savoring a full dinner with friends or family in a dynamic setting, Novara Restaurant invites you to enjoy authentic Northern Italian flavors with a side of warmth and charm. It’s a culinary journey well worth the visit, even if it means a bit of travel—as one reviewer happily noted, the experience was so exceptional they’d make the 180-mile round trip again without hesitation.

Came here for lunch and had the largest lobster roll I’ve ever seen. It was practically a whole lobster’s worth of meat in a bun and it tasted so fresh. Docked a star because the servers constantly asked to clear the calamari we ordered and it was a little much. Would go back and try for dinner though.

Loved my meal here. Waitress was Kerri and she was attentive and made sure our meal was great. Had a small error with my meal and manager came over and talked with us, gave us a free dessert. Best espresso martinis ever

Went there today with my wife. The best Chicken sandwich I've ever had. Pat,Pat, and Dillon terrific bar tenders/servers. Very attentive and personable. The restaurant is in an old movie theater which has a modernized bar with numerous big screen tvs. They had an old movie playing on an enormous big screen which was really cool. We definitely will be back even though it is a 180 mile round trip for us.

My boyfriend and I had been wanting to try Novara for a while, and it was worth the wait. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we enjoyed every dish. It was nice that during Dine Out Boston week we could get a drink and support a cause at the same time. The restaurant has a great vibe, and the staff was friendly. We will definitely be back.

Second time I have been, would love to come more often, but live in the UK. The lamb lollipops with fingerling potatoes and sauted spinach was delicious, also the beef rib with gnocchi was delicious too. The Tiramisu was so good too. As a Nkotb fan was delighted to try the New fig on the block cocktail and it didn't disappoint. Top food, top place and top staff, shame I didn't see Jordan Knight though.

What can I say!!!! I walked in and the vibe was all HOLIDAY. Home Alone playing on the big screen above their open kitchen. Then its a wonderful life. It was great our server was so pleasant. We had a few apps. Crispy Brussels and Sweet potato croquet. Drinks were amazing. I had the Lime & Mint spritz such an amazing mocktail. For dinner we enjoyed Sausage and Rigatoni w vodka sauce i substituted rigatoni for parraradelle pasta, Autumn Harvest Salad w salmon, Lobster FRA Diavolo. All portions were huge. An evening well spent. Can't wait to enjoy this restaurant again and again.

Beautiful restaurant and nicely decorated for the holidays. Great selection of food and drinks to choose from. We celebrated my friend’s birthday and shared a Mediterranean Starter. The cocktails were well mixed. I enjoyed the Scallops and Risotto.
